my panadero

Ryan has been craving for some warm Pinoy buns for weeks already, and yesterday, he decided to put an end to his misery. yes, my husband finally branched out of his cookies and cakes delights and tried out baking breads for the first time.

i saw how much effort he has put in to make this first attempt a success - from mixing the ingredients to kneading the dough. it was like watching a “Batibot” episode of how pan de sals are made. and i have to say that the Ryan’s pan de sals were really good & tasty for a first try.

the buns were prepared in time for afternoon merienda. when Ryan took them out of the oven, the aroma filled the kitchen so we opted to have our merienda there. we had butter, Chiz Whiz Pimiento and peanut butter as spreads. nothing truly beats freshly baked bread, especially when it’s home made! so fresh & yummy!

Galing galing!

I remember when I was a kid and my lola baked her first batch of pandesal. Grabe they were hard as rocks. LOL! Reminds me of this scene in Charlie's Angels. Hahaha!

ang galing naman ng panadero mo! i've long been dreaming of pan de sal. too lazy to make 'em! but it's on my "to bake" list. hee hee. i don't think i can get hubby to make them for me.

sarap ng hot pan de sal!

yummy! hurray for the husband! :) hindi ba pwede ang kneading using the dough hook of a kitchen aide? or dapat regaluhan si hubby ng kitchen aide para ma-engganyo gumawa ng more yummy pan de sal. :)

hi che,
proud talaga 'ko sa work ni Ryan & honestly, masarap talaga. he got the recipe from allrecipes.com. easy lang to make kse konti ingredients, but matrabaho ang kneading & you have to wait twice for the dough to rise.

hi tracy,
i wish i can send a batch for you, bread lover! naku, swerte ko lang talaga masipag si Ryan sa kitchen...at laging "success" ang mga ginagawa nya :)

hi valerie,
thanks! ipapabasa ko lahat ng comments dito kay Ryan para lalong ma-inspire magbake.
ano kayang nilagay ni Lola kaya tumigas ng ganun yung pandesal nya? LOL!

hi weng,
the best talaga ang hot pan de sal! sa lahat ng breads, yan ang winner para sa 'kin. buti na lang marunong na gumawa si Ryan. share mo rin sa 'min pag na-bake mo na ha. btw, i told Ryan to check out your blog. mahilig magbasa ng mga food blogs yun eh.

hi mandy,
you just don't know how much kulit he is sa paghingi ng kitchenaid sa 'kin! sabi ko sa bday na lang nya. ang mahal dito eh. on my last year's trip sa US, muntik ko nang i-hand carry yun kse nga super cheaper dun.
i think pwede ngang ipang-knead yung dough hook. pero sabi ni Ryan, iba pa rin ang kneading ng hands. now he's asking for a rolling pin!

hi gracie,

would you believe I am into pan de sal for weeks now. I would ask the husband to buy me hot pan de sal at Pan de Pugon on his way from work. Hehehe!

And I love, love hot pan de sal with melted butter (daricreme) or reno liver spread naman! Hehehe!

And kudo to ryan! Ka-bilib ha! Pwede ka na mag sideline sa office mo. Pan de Sal with stuffings : corned beef, menudo etc ...

hi jacqui,
kaka-miss talaga ang morning dose of pan de sal back home. kaya siguro di na natiis ni Ryan he had to bake his own :)
LOL!
